Health Savings Account (HSA)

If you enroll in the Cigna Bronze Plan or Cigna Silver Plan, you are eligible to open and contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA) administered by WEX. The HSA, per IRS regulations is allowed to be changed monthly.

The HSA is a tax-advantaged personal savings account, which allows you to set aside pretax dollars to pay for qualified medical, prescription drug, dental and vision expenses you have now or in the future. A full list of qualified expenses is available in IRS Publication 969 and IRS Publication 502.

How the HSA Works
  • Make contributions. In 2027, the limits on total contributions to your account are:

– Up to $4,500 for single coverage.

– Up to $9,000 for all other coverage levels.

– If you are age 55 or over, you may contribute an additional $1,000 (also known as catch-up contributions).

Note: Certain brands may receive an HSA company contribution. For more information, contact Human Resources or refer to the rate sheet.

  • Never pay taxes. Contributions are made from your paycheck on a pretax basis, and the money will never be taxed when used for eligible expenses.
  • It’s your money. Unused money can be carried over each year and invested for the future—with the potential to gain interest or earnings tax-free. You can even take it with you if you leave TEAM Services Group or retire.

Note: If you open an HSA, you will be responsible for a $1.50 monthly administrative fee.

Eligibility

You are eligible to open and contribute to an HSA if you:

  • Elect medical coverage under the Cigna Bronze Plan or Cigna Silver Plan,
  • Are not covered under another medical plan such as Medicare, Tricare or a spouse’s non-HDHP medical plan; and,
  • Are not claimed as a dependent on another person’s insurance policy or tax return.

Note: The amount you choose to contribute cannot be changed during the year unless you experience a Qualified Life Event.

Manage Your Account

  • Visit the WEX website at customer.wexinc.com/login
  • Download the Benefits by WEX mobile app
  • Or, call 1-833-225-5939 to manage your account.

Note: The HSA requires re-enrollment each year.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) allow you to contribute pretax dollars to an account to pay for eligible health care and dependent care expenses you have during the year. Because contributions are deducted from your paycheck before taxes are taken out, you reduce your taxable income, which means there’s less money for the government to tax, so you save on taxes!

TEAM Services Group offers the Health Care, Dependent Care and Limited Purpose FSAs through WEX.

Remember: This is a “use it or lose it” account; any money left in your account at the end of the plan year will not roll over to the next year. You will have 90 days following the end of the plan year to submit all expenses for the previous year.
